About the role
As Business Manager International you will work within the international team, under the umbrella of the Commercial Department, reporting to the Director International.. You will work closely together with Business / Key Account Managers of the Strategy- Container- and Industry & Bulk teams in order to co-create value propositions that improve efficiency & reduce the emission footprint of supply chains via Rotterdam.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with mentioned stakeholders, identifying what they need to continue investing and growing.
- Innovate and co-create with market parties and (non)governmental institutions to develop value propositions, digital solutions and business models.
- Act as a matchmaker between market players, government, and industry associations to accelerate progress and create impact.
- Combine strategic thinking with tactical execution to ensure Rotterdam remains an attractive location for investment and logistics, leveraging our facilitating role even without owning assets.
- Owner of complex multi-stakeholder projects involving, among others, direct and indirect clients, regulatory authorities, and governments.
- Thought leadership; Represent Port of Rotterdam at the global stage. Grow and maintain a strong professional network with the relevant stakeholders. Works also closely with existing networks, industry associations and other ports if it can strengthen the goal.
What we offer
- The starting salary depends on education and experience, with a maximum of €7.525 ,- gross per month based on a 36 hour workweek
- Starting with a 1 year contract, with a prospect of a permanent appointment based on performance and mutual fit.

- A personal choice budget of 19.6% on top of your gross monthly salary (made up of holiday allowance (8%), thirteenth month (8.33%), vitality contribution (2.3%) and an extra budget of (0.97%). You can have the accrued budget paid out (partially) in the interim and/or used to buy a bicycle, to make extra pension payments at the ABP, to purchase extra hours of leave, or to settle training costs (not job-related) or career advice in a tax-friendly way.

Requirements
- Completed Bachelor or Master’s degree in in international Business or related field.
- Proven (~10 years) experience in business development, consulting or project management and with a track record of delivering successful public private partnerships in complex circumstances
- Industry experience in (digital) port operations / energy transition and governmental affairs.
- Experience in the creation of Customer Value propositions in a B2B setting is a big plus. Agri-food and reefer container experience being another advantage
- Experience with doing business in Brasil (and other Latam Countries) and/or Germany
- Experience with digitalization and optimization, both in processes and in organizational transformation with strong knowledge of digital technologies and trends.
